THE GHOST IN LOVE

A SHORT STORY _ ( FICTIONAL)


If emotions can be turned into words, I don’t mind bleeding whilst I write down my heart on paper. I have grown to love you all my life and I can’t live without you; in fact, I won’t live without you. I only wish you can love me a little, I can actually live with it. I love you so much, Ken. It’s me again Andy and this is definitely the last note I will be writing to you, Love.

Ken was about to tear the paper when his wife Grace walked in. It’s from the same secret admirer, right? Let me read it (Grace asked)… You are a lucky young lady that this is the last note will be writing to me, I would have dealt with you if another should arrive (Ken murmurs as he hands the note to his wife).

Ken is a married man with 3kids. It’s been 6years of his married life and Andy has been writing to him every single day for the past 1year, of course, he didn’t read all the notes… AT the back of Andy’s note was “I will end it again today, if you can’t love me even after all these years and intense words from me then I don’t wanna live, cos am talking my life out of love”.

Now Ken was really frightened, Grace as well. Darling, this is getting out of hand. We need to find this Andy right now before she does anything stupid. She’s been writing to you for more than a year now and never for one day did she relent. I think there’s something wrong with her. She needs help.
Ken – Baby I wish we can find her. I don’t even know her or where she lives. I have never seen her before not to talk of been familiar with the name; so there’s no possible way we can actually get to her or track her. Let’s just report to the Police in case anything happens to her, let them know we are innocent.

A few days later a corpse was released. A lady who died by poison with a suicide note on her left hand which reads: “Again I died for love. Love, KEN, I will be back”. On seeing her face, Ken recognized the face of a ghost that appeared to him on several occasions both in his dreams. But spirits don’t die Ken muttered. “No” a voice from nowhere replied. “We die only when we are in love, and this is my second ghost death”…
