 THOUGHT LEADERS, 
you must fight for your place.
I WANT TO SHAKE A TABLE, but first a story...
A long time ago, the early Israelites were being colonized by the great Persian Empire (present-day Iran) and their cities had been destroyed.
After many years, a Persian king, Xerxes ascended the throne and he had a favourable disposition toward the Israelites. He gave them permission to go and rebuild one of their city walls. This held tremendous sentimental value to the Jews and they celebrated it.
However, rebuilding wasn't going to be so easy.
You see, the Israelites had been in captivity for so long that everyone knew them as slaves - the abused people - people who had nothing to their name.
This new dignified reality was hard for the neighbouring cities to accept and there arose 2 troublemakers - Sanballat and Tobias.
These men began to bully the men who were only there to build the city, despite a desist order from the king.
And so the leader of the Israelites at the time, Nehemiah, ordered the builders as a last resort, to arm themselves with swords in case the troublemakers wanted to get violent.
This worked. The bullies really had no spine.
They just wanted to see whether the Israelites would easily be bullied.
The Israelites finished their work amidst great jubilation.

SHAKING THE VERY TABLE 
====
Many of you reading this can relate to the plight of the early Israelites. You've lived your life in obscurity for so many years.
One day, you realized that you wanted more... and you began to seek more.
People were drawn to your light, and through your content, you started teaching people to see their own light.
However, there have arisen the Sanballats and Tobiases of our generation - the ones who pride themselves in being shakers of your table.
They are all over Social Media saying,
"So everybody now wants to be a coach”
"See Chiamaka's post getting likes, but there's nothing so special about it sef"
"Emem is organizing her masterclass oh. Emem of yesterday”
"Kunle has written a book oh. He has joined the bandwagon. What does he even know sef? He's just 21"
“She's divorced. She should go and fix her home before teaching me anything"
You see/hear what they are saying and it's getting to you. I don't blame you. Even me wey dey talk sef, it took me 2 years to anoint myself with selective deafness.
These people will never go away. One set will disappear, another set will appear to take their place.
You must fight for your place, not a physical fight - the one within.
Some days, you will wake up with no desire to do your good work. You will yearn for the path of least resistance.
Don't let the Sanballats and Tobiases of this world win.
This world was created for ALL OF US!

THERE ARE NO SPECIAL ONES!
If I had paid attention to the table shakers of my time, you wouldn't know my name today.
I made it my prime pleasure to ensure that they saw me shine.
I said this on TV once, "I want to be everywhere. You'll see me so often, you'll be sick of me. I'll be on TV, Radio, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and BBM. Your spouse will not stop talking about me. Your children will be my biggest fans"
If they like, let them say, "Who be this John Obidi sef?
Please keep talking and making me more famous.
Guys, think about this. All apostles of Jesus were persecuted, imprisoned and/or killed by disgraceful methods.
Some were fed to lions, others were forced to flee their home countries.
But look at you. Ordinary table shaker you cannot handle?
This is nothing.
You only have a finite number of active years left on this Earth and then the clock stops.
Keep writing, podcasting, video publishing, Instagramming... Keep showing up

SHAMELESSLY.
Do whatever it is you have to do in order to actualize the vision in your heart.
Be confident in your calling and just build.
Let them continue shaking tables.
Kings and Queens don't sit on tables.
We are architects of civilization.
We sit on thrones and decide the course of history.
BUILD!
